Highlights & balayage

Custom lived-in color — partial and full highlights done with foils, hand-painted balayage for natural sun-kissed dimension. The work I trained for and the service I love most.

Partial Highlight from $135 Full Highlight from $185 Balayage from $195

Which is right for you?

Partial Highlight — from $135

Foiled highlights around the face and crown. Brightens where it shows most. Good for first-time color clients or anyone wanting a refresh without a full commitment.

Full Highlight — from $185

Foiled highlights front to back, top to bottom. A more dramatic lift overall — ideal for going noticeably lighter or maintaining bright blonde all year.

Balayage — from $195

Hand-painted, freehand lightener applied without foils. Creates soft, natural-looking dimension that grows out beautifully — less maintenance, more lived-in.

The process

01

Free consultation

We talk through your goals, your hair history, and what’s realistic. I’ll show you tone options and explain the maintenance commitment.

02

Lightening

Foils for highlights, freehand painting for balayage. Method depends on the look we’re creating and what your hair needs.

03

Process & rinse

Processing time depends on your starting hair and target shade. Usually 30–45 minutes.

04

Tone & finish

A gloss or toner refines the final shade. Then a cut or trim if you booked one, followed by blowdry and styling.

Keep your color healthy

  • Wash less. Every 2–3 days max. Frequent washing fades color faster.
  • Sulfate-free shampoo. Sulfates strip color. I’ll recommend specific products at your appointment.
  • Heat protectant always. Avoid heat above 350°F without protectant.
  • Weekly bond-builder. Olaplex No. 3 or K18 at home keeps lightened hair healthy.
  • Gloss refresh every 6–8 weeks. Keeps tones from going brassy between full sessions.

Color questions

What’s the difference between highlights and balayage?

Highlights are done in foils — lightener is sectioned and wrapped, which gives a more uniform, brighter result with a defined line. Balayage is hand-painted without foils — more natural and lived-in, with a softer grow-out. Highlights for brightness; balayage for dimension.

Partial or full highlight?

Partial covers the face and crown — great for adding brightness where it shows. Full covers head to toe — the right call when you want an overall lighter look or maintain bright blonde.

Can I go really light if my hair is dark?

Sometimes — it depends on your hair history and condition. Going from dark to very light usually takes multiple sessions to do safely. I’ll tell you what’s realistic at consultation and we’ll plan accordingly.

How often do I need to come back?

Highlights: every 8–12 weeks for maintenance. Balayage: every 3–6 months. A gloss refresh between sessions keeps tones bright either way.

Will my color look brassy after a few weeks?

Brassiness happens as warm tones come through over time, especially on color-treated hair. The fix is a gloss/toner refresh every 6–8 weeks. I’ll show you what to use at home between sessions.
