Terms & cancellation
Effective: May 1, 2026 · Last updated: May 24, 2026
These Terms apply to all services booked with Hair by Nicole Kristina. By booking an appointment, you agree to these terms. Please read carefully — they protect both of us and set clear expectations.
1. Booking and deposits
- All appointments require a deposit to confirm. Deposit amounts vary by service and are quoted at booking.
- Deposits are non-refundable but fully transferable to a rescheduled appointment with at least 24 hours’ notice.
- Deposits apply to your service total. The remaining balance is due at the end of your appointment.
- New clients begin with a free consultation (phone or DM) before booking the first service.
2. Cancellation policy
- 24-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule without losing your deposit.
- Same-day cancellations are charged a $75 fee in addition to the lost deposit.
- No-shows are charged a $75 fee and may be required to pre-pay for future bookings.
- Repeat late cancellations (more than twice) may result in requiring full pre-payment for any future appointments.
3. Late arrivals
- Please notify me as soon as you know you’ll be late.
- Up to 15 minutes late: Appointment proceeds as scheduled, may run over.
- More than 15 minutes late: Appointment may need to be shortened (with full service price still due) or rescheduled as a same-day cancellation ($75 fee applies).
4. Pricing and quotes
- All prices on the menu are starting prices (“from $X”). Final price depends on hair length, density, condition, and time required.
- Quotes given at consultation are based on the information available at that time. Significant changes (color goal, length added, condition discovered) may adjust the final price.
- Any price adjustments will be discussed with you before the service begins. You may always decline and reschedule.
- Extensions and complex services are quoted by case after in-person consultation, not from the menu.
5. Pre-appointment intake
- All clients complete a pre-appointment intake form before their first service.
- The form includes medical disclosures (allergies, pregnancy, medications) and consent acknowledgments.
- Honest disclosure is required for safe service. Withholding relevant information may result in declined service or unintended outcomes for which I cannot be held responsible.
- A patch test is recommended for first-time color clients or anyone with known sensitivities. If you decline a recommended patch test, you accept responsibility for any resulting reaction.
6. Service guarantees and adjustments
- Hair services are not refundable once performed.
- If you’re not happy with a result, contact me within 7 days. I offer adjustments at no charge to bring the service in line with what we agreed on at the consultation.
- Adjustments cover the original service performed; they do not cover changes of mind (e.g., wanting a different color than what was agreed) or maintenance of subsequent at-home damage.
- Unopened retail products may be exchanged within 14 days with proof of purchase.
7. Photo and marketing consent
- I may photograph hair work for portfolio and marketing purposes only with your written consent on the intake form.
- You may choose full consent, hair-only (face excluded), or decline entirely.
- You may revoke consent at any time by emailing me. Previously published photos may not be removable from third-party platforms but will not be used in new marketing.
- See the Privacy Policy for full details.
8. Studio and conduct
- Appointments are private — I serve one client at a time.
- Adults-only appointments are preferred. If you need to bring a child, please tell me in advance.
- I reserve the right to decline or end service for any client who is abusive, threatening, intoxicated, or otherwise creating an unsafe environment.
9. Liability and limitations
- All chemical services carry inherent risk including scalp irritation, hair breakage, color variation from desired result, and unexpected reactions to products.
- I take every reasonable precaution: professional products, proper technique, current training, honest consultations.
- By signing the intake form, you acknowledge these risks and confirm that you have disclosed all relevant medical history and chemical hair history.
- Liability is limited to the cost of the service performed.
10. Payment
- Accepted: credit/debit card, Venmo, Zelle.
- Payment is due at the end of your appointment.
- Gratuity is appreciated but never required.
11. Travel services (bridal & on-location)
- On-location bridal and event services available within a 20-mile radius of Orange, CA. Travel fees apply beyond that.
- Bridal bookings require a non-refundable deposit to hold the date. The remaining balance is due the day before the event.
- Bridal trials are typically done in studio 4–8 weeks before the wedding date.
- Cancellations within 30 days of the wedding date forfeit the full deposit.
12. Changes to terms
These terms may be updated as the business evolves. The current version always applies to new bookings. Existing bookings are governed by the terms in effect at the time of booking.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be resolved in Orange County, California.
